Love Yourself Enough to Be Better

Peace and blessings everyone. Today, I just feel like expressing some of my thoughts more or less for therapy. A lot has been going on in the world and this is just my outlet.  In a perfect world, everybody could do live their lives to the fullest become the best version of themselves. I don't see how you feel good about yourself if you waste your time and energy hating on someone who has no done anything wrong to you.

Instead of hating, spend time focusing on yourself and bettering yourself.  Haters get no love so why be a hater?

I also want to just say that we need more love in this world.  We as human beings make things that are simple, so complex.  We need to love ourselves first and foremost. Then we need to learn to love each other.  You only get one life to live. Do you want to make the best out of it or not?  All you have to do is love yourself and focus on being better than you were before. It's that simple.  Now get to work!!!

Becoming Your Own Boss

There comes a point in time when one needs to make the decision to be a worker or to be a boss.  If you want to be a boss you need to be willing to work for it. To become a boss one needs to be willing to take risks and to make sacrifices.  You will need to believe in yourself when no one else does.  You will need to be willing to give up your time, sleep, money and maybe even your social life in order to keep your business going.  You must be willing to hold responsibility for all of your decisions and actions and you must be willing to manage the consequences.  Now this may sound like a lot to handle but when you consider the reward, it's definitely worth it.

I have a technical background. In my past I've worked as a programmer, systems analyst, business analyst, and IT consultant. I've also done some web designing as a hobby.  To stay sharp in my industry, it's crucial to keep up to date with the latest trends, changes, and skill-sets.  I read a lot of IT related material from new articles, magazines, books, blogs, etc.  In doing so, I realized that that the skills that are need for my job today may not be relevant anymore in the future.  So in order to remain valuable, I decided that I needed to change my mindset.

Most people who have a good, or at least decent job, may find the idea or leaving that job very difficult.  When you've grown accustom to a certain environment and have built deep and strong relationships with others, it's tough to have all that come to an end.  However, you don't have to jump ship and leave your job to start your own business all at once.  You can start working on your business part-time.  Invest in yourself in your free time until you feel ready to become a full-time independent freelancer or business owner.  To get started towards that path, here are some tips I would recommend:

  • Do your research and learn as much as you can about the subject or work that you want to pursue.
  • Set small goals and attack each goal one by one.
  • Write out a plan to help you achieve your goal.
  • Network with people that can or will help you.
  • Surround yourself with people who inspire you to be better.
  • Find a Mentor that can help guide you through your journey.
  • Have faith in yourself, in God and in your abilities.
  • Invest in every aspect of your life.
  • Do things that push you out of your comfort zone.
  • Prepare to work hard and do not shy away from a challenge.

I'm not going to go into detail on these tips because I think they're pretty self explanatory but the one thing that I want to emphasize to you if you want to become your own boss is to take action, even if it's just small amounts of action, do something that will help you become the boss you want to be!

Dreams N Ambitions is back!!

Greetings and salutations to you all! It feels GREAT to be back on here writing a new post on the DNA blog.  Man it's been way too long.  I definitely did not think it would have been this long since I'd write my next post but hey it is what it is. As long as I'm here right now, with you..that's all that matters.  DNA is back and on until we're all the way out. Let's get it!! I need you stay with me on this go round.  Life is full of so choices which ultimately determine how you live and what you become.  Everyday, every hour, every minute there's a chance to make a choice.  The mind is very powerful. What you think you are is what you will become. When you believe you can do something, chances are you probably can.  We can choose to be a positive force..or choose to be a negative force. We can choose to be free of fears and worries..or we can choose not to. We can choose to follow a path that's been created just for us...or we can choose to follow others. We can choose to do what we are passion about, what we truly care about...or we can choose to do what's easy and convenient for us at the time.  It's all about choices we make. Those choices shape and mold the life we live.  No one knows the future or what it may bring but I truly feel that it's better to make choices that you will not regret, regardless the outcome, than to make choices that you're heart does not align with.  Dare to pursue your passion and your dream.  Make the choice to live the life you want and take action now.  Because before you know it, your whole life will pass you by and you will be left with nothing more than regret. Had to get that off my chest. Okay back to work!  DNA all day! Peace.

Finding your purpose

Just wanted to share some motivating thoughts today..I was cooling this afternoon just thinking about life and who I was meant to be.  For a while I've been thinking about myself and what my purpose or calling is in life.  We all have these thoughts and ask that question. At times we feel like we might know but then, as events take place and circumstances change, we go back to questioning ourselves.  It's a perplexing question that really has no definite answer.
After a lot thinking and analyzing, I've realized that we will never know our purpose or calling unless we get past of fears and doubts and challenge ourselves.  Try new things, visit new places and go to further lengths.  We will never discover our true potential unless we act on our ideas instead of overly thinking about them and we either forget about them or discourage ourselves.  It can be scary to enter the unknown but until you do, you will never be able to answer the questions of the unknown possibilities. You will never know what could have been if you never allow for 'it' to be.  Today I encourage all my readers to set aside your fears and doubts, think positive, focus on positive results that you want and go out and find your purpose.

An update on my year so far...told by Moe, 1/2 of DNA.

Hey guys! Hope you all are doing well.  I just wanted to give an update on this DNA project this year.  So far the year has been going pretty smoothly.  Me and my partner Dennis have been working hard on promoting and selling our products. I'm also enjoying the new job that I started a little over a month ago (we both still have other full-time jobs), which a plus. As you should know already, we finally came out with our first batch of DNA T shirts. That was pretty cool.  We've been successfully selling and promoting our shirts and brand (thank you all who support us).  Even though we're just getting started and don't have much yet, it's a great feeling to know that people like something that you created enough to spend their hard earned money on it. So we really appreciate the love and we can't stress that enough!

So as to how my year's been going..We'll I managed to survive a painfully freezing cold winter in Pittsburgh (wasn't ready for that type of cold). I also got to attend the annual Classic Arnold Expo in Columbus, Ohio. If you're into fit chicks, you would have loved it.  There was alot of fitness and bodybuiding gear being promoted. Of course I had to do my own promoting (DNA in the house baby! Let's go).
She's fine ain't she?

She was pretty hot too..

Rubbing that Stanley Cup for good luck!

I also got see the Stanley Cup in downtown Pittsburgh. That was pretty awesome. Never thought I'd get to do that. I will also be doing some traveling some so I'll have more pics and updates as we move forward. Until next time, keep focused on yours goals and follow your Dreams N Ambitions.  It's DNA all day!
Love and Peace,
M. Skrillz

Oh and if you haven't ordered a DNA shirt..WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? ~Dreams N Ambtions~

IT'S 2014 AND STILL ~DNA~

On behalf on Dreams N Ambitions LLC, I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! 2013 was very interesting year from DNA. We definitely experienced our fair share of ups and downs.  We had some rough patches along the way but we are happy to say that we are still here and stronger than ever! It's all been a learning experience for us but, through the experiences that we shared in 2013, we truly feel ready and confident to enter into 2014.  Running a company and building a brand is not easy.  There's a lot that goes into retail which we had to learn and figure out by trial and error.  Ideas are not always agreed upon and hashing out new ideas takes patient, understanding, and commitment from everyone.  We've learned more about ourselves as individuals and as a company. Although there are many challenges, it's been quite fulfilling to see our ideas come to life. We had lots of fun sharing our vision with others and we're very grateful for all of the positive feedback and love that we have been receiving.
Being that this is  a grass root operation, we started going out into the streets to sell our wristbands and to market our brand. It's all part of the hustle but we enjoy it.  We love to  meet new people and make new friends that we can connect with.  This year we want to keep moving forward.  We have new DNA gear and accessories on the way and we will not disappoint.  This is a movement.  Our goal to inspire courage and confidence to go out and do what you we're made to do.  We will continue to motivate and inspire courage and confidence to be yourself and to pursue your dreams.  So look out for us, keep following us and remember to always embrace your DNA. We wish you all a safe, healthy, and prosperous 2014! It's still DNA all day!!

Fourth of July...The DNA Way!

M. Skrillz
Greetings everyone! I hope you all are recovering well from a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. I know a lot of people were doing all sorts of different things to enjoy their day off (unless you had to work) and to celebrate Independence Day. I myself had the opportunity to experience white water rafting with some friends, for the first time.  A friend of a friend who works out at The Ohiopyle State Park invited us to come and being the adventurer that I am, of course I accepted the invitation. Now I've heard stories from co workers and friends who have done white water rafting before and most of them mentioned injuries so I knew it would be intense. So a group of us headed to there early, Thursday morning.

When we got there, one of the guys who I came with warned me to listen to our instructor (who was my buddy that invited us) it was going to get real! He told me that the first time he went, he thought it would be a sweet boat ride until he ended up flying in the air after bumping a rock.  That woke him right up! So I made sure I paid careful attention to my buddy's directions and I'm glad I did. Once we're in our rafts and on the water, we practiced paddling under our instructor's orders.  As soon as we began the actual course, it was on!  Amongst the paddling, fighting the currents, avoiding bone-crushing rocks, and trying to not fall out the raft, we got what we bargained for.  We hit a series of different rapids that definitely wore us out, including one called the Double Hydrolic.
On this particular rapid, our instructor and myself were not so lucky.  We hit a huge rock which also dropped really low.  Our instructor and myself were sitting in the back of the raft so when the end flew up, so did we.  All I remember was hitting the water then spinning around like a piece of clothing inside of a dry cleaner on tumble dry. When I finally surfaced and got to smoother water, I saw my instructor, who helped pull me in onto a boulder.  Somehow, the other guys on the raft stayed on and made their way towards us.  The rest of the ride was pretty extreme but we manged to make it through.  Afterward, we headed down to the natural water slide, located in the park.  That was pretty cool. I also got to snap a couple pics with my DNA snapback and wristband in full effect.

We chilled at the park for a little while longer, got some grub from the local bbq spot, then headed back home.  All in all, it was a great experience,(definitely want to do it again) and a great day. Hope you all had a safe and fun weekend.

It's All Uphill From Here

I figured I'd give you an update on our DNA project and share this experience with you.  Right now were still at the 'building up the business' phase where we are still trying to put together all the pieces that are needed to establish a solid business foundation.  We've definitely had some road bumps along the way but I think that it has also helped us grow as a company.  Thankfully, we have succeeded in getting a DBA, and LLC and we're now working on trademarking the logo.  We got a business account set up so that's good and next we need to build a website and get some products out.  I have some new ideas that I want to try with the brand.  I'm going to take a artist dare, if you will, and put out some t shirt designs displaying artwork that inspired myself.  I think it will inspire others as well.  I don't want to give away too much right because it's just an idea but I've got a few tricks up my sleeve.  I can't wait to get started with marketing.  I'm going to flood the internet with out name.  I'm going to use every source of social networking possible to get the brand name Dreams N Ambitions out there.
DNA

I want DNA to be known world-wide.  I think we can do it.  I'm located in the Pittsburgh area right now so I'm trying to do some research on good areas that will bring more business.  I spoke with a local small business owner in my neighbor yesterday and asked him about his business and how he got started.  He started off as an online company selling candles.  When he started, the online business was doing well, shipping from there warehouse in California while the store was set up in Chicago.  Later on, for reasons I do not know for sure, they decided to move the store to the Pittsburgh area.  He told me that you got to catch Pittsburghers while they're out at an event for for a special occasions.  He also suggested opening a t shirt booth similar to the ones you see in areas like South Street Philadelphia or Fulton Street, NY.  I think that would actually be a great idea.  I can start small with a little booth and sell different tees under my brand until we grow and can expand.  It sounds like a big dream but that's okay because that's what we're all about.  Dreaming BIG and having the ambition to do it.  We're have those tees for ya'll soon enough.  Stay tune.....~DNA~

What is Dreams N Ambitions?

Dreams & Ambitions is a brand that was created to provide motivation and encouragement to everyone who dares to chase a dream or goal. We felt that as we ourselves were just like the average person who comes up with awesome ideas everyday. Often a great idea dies away or is forgotten until someone else takes it and runs with it. Then you're left thinking to yourself, "I had that idea first" or "I could have done that too".  We all know the feeling and we've all experienced this before. My partner and I were once the same way. We always talked and cooked up great ideas but failed to act on them. Well one day we finally decided that we were going to take action and follow our dream. We decided that we were going to at least try to make our dreams a reality because anything could happen as long as you try right? So with that being said, we created Dreams & Ambitions! Our goal is to reach every person worldwide who has a dream they're chasing. We'd love for you to share some your dreams and goals with us, whether it's something that you've done and are proud of, words of encouragement, or ambitious dreams that you are pursuing for your future.  With this blog, we want it to be a channel that we use to interact with our supporters, customers, or just general audience.  So if you have ideas that you would like share here on our blog, please do.  Thanks all, peace. ~DNA~
Dream N Ambitions

Tell us what you think...

We're really excited about this Dreams N Ambitions clothing line.  The idea was inspired by a vision to represent all of the everyday people who can appreciate good clothing and nice fashion.  We wanted to come out with something different but simple.  Something comfortable but of high quality.  We want our supporters to appreciate this brand and feel good about it.  Dreams N Ambitions or DNA is more that a name brand, it's a movement. For now, we're starting off with tees, hoodies, and hats. Then, hopefully with your help, we'll be able to expand the line and come out with more items.  Which leads to my next statement. WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! Tell us what you think, what you like, what you don't like.   Let's us know what you would like to see in the future or DON'T want to see! We'd love to hear some new ideas so PLEASE SHARE!

We want you to share your dreams and ambitions with us....

I was hanging out with my friends a little while back and we were discussing some ideas for this blog.  I want to get some ideas from them about what they would like to read or write about on this blog.  I explained to them that I want to really interact with the readers who post their thoughts on this blog but how can we do it?  One of friends came up with a rather cool idea.  He suggested we let the readers post some of their dreams that they have whether it's a dream that you are pursuing or a dream that you had while sleeping.  It's all good because we want to hear about them! Why? Well this brand is called Dreams N Ambitions right? So we want to know some of your dreams and some of the ambitious visions that you would like to see and use them as inspiration for our brand and designs!
